Wow, WordPress just wished me a Happy Anniversary and it turns out I’ve been running this blog for 3 years! So I’ve gone through this blog from the beginning and picked out a number of pictures from over the years to tell me story of life in virtual reality.
As soon as I got into Second Life, in fact the only reason I joined was to turn into a vampire. So I hooked up with Demonic Desires clan.
Panther had joined SL just before me and we both joined Demonic Desires as vampires.
We all know our avatars evolve, we make them fit more comfortably with who we are.
Simbrosia was the home sim of the Lickity Splits group and Demonic Desires clan, probably still is.
Panther and I had many homes on Simbrosia as it was regularly remodelled. At this time we were Prince and Princess of Demonic Desires.
You have to love an SL wedding.
I love all the effects in virtal worlds, like these hooves that set the wearer on fire!
Turning up to random parties can have random results. I went to a Japanese themed party in an awful free dress to go and socialise. At the end of the party I was the only non-staff member there so I won the L$500 for best costume. We decided to carry on with a few rounds with a truth cube. The topic had to be sex. One question asked me my most common sexual fantasy. In the spirit of the game I told the truth… only to hear it broadcast over the SL radio station they run a few minutes later. Made me giggle lots!
Simbrosia also had a race track where we’d had clan race days occassionally. I wasn’t a great driver.
One thing I do miss from SL is my little dog called Whiskey. He was a gift but had to be deleted when I no longer had anywhere to keep him. Very sad day.
Of course Simbrosia also had a club called Firecry Fantasey where I got a job as a pole dancer. It paid for everything I needed/wanted like blood, clothes and building supplies.
For a few months we had a zombie killing game at Simbrosia too, with a score board to see who had killed the most zombies in the month. I loved it but it was script heavy and not very popular so came down again.
People these days know me for my excessively long hair, here was the point I gained that atribute.
Like I do in Littlefield now, I wrote the occassional post about Second Life sims. My first ever sim review was Dam Resort in SL.
I love bellydancing and fire arts in real life, so it’s no suprise that Kawala Bellydance store was one of my favourite shopping experiences. I spent a lot of money in there.
Another activity I enjoyed real life was Tai Chi, which made Hanzo Blades store a favourite haunt too.
One incarnation of Simbrosia had a fairground. I loved that.
One of my voluntary duties was keeping the clan’s adult library. It ended up rather large! We had something for everyone in the erotica section, then where was the vampire/lycan section with both fiction and non-fiction.
One of my favourite ways to relax in SL was gathering friends/family for a game of greedy.
Remember the day the Curiosity Rover landed on Mars? I certainly do. There was a large gathering in SL with a big screen set up to stream the footage live. There were replica models and information boards explaining the proposed mission. As confirmation came through that Curiosity had landed safely the whole area erupted into celebration! I love astronomy and the spacew programs so it was lovely to be surrounded by people who felt the same way.
I may have worked in Firecrys and gone to most their events, but another club I would frequent with my partner, Dae, was the Riptide.
After starting to learn to build with builders kits I set up a store on Marketplace. I was so proud!
I love the amount of different weddings yoou got in SL. Earlier a friend got married in a pagan style wedding, but here a clan member gets married in a more traditional setting.
In a clan there are obviously a number of turnings, some formal, some informal. Here is a formal version held in Demonic Desires castle’s turning room.
I’ve always loved Steampunk, this was an outfit I won on a hunt.
Living on an ever-changing sim meant having to reaquaint myself with it regularly.
A place I visited with Dae was the City of Rio where I found a beautiful harp to play. I dabble with harp real life but never got any good.
A proposal of marriage came my way from Dae, and I consented happily! Shame we never quite reached the wedding.
My favourite time of year is Halloween, so we dropping in at the party at Catalina’s. Loved my outfit!
As Demonic Desires clan grew we started having weekly meet and greets as part information sharing and part social gathering. I went to a lot fo these as I was High Council by this time.
The best thing about Winter in grid is the beautiful sims with fun activities. I enjoyed the Meiville Winter Festival very much.
Metal Health Club started out as a small region before it got a sim, and we could regularly be found dancing in the street of shops.
2012 was the year Demonic Desires hosted the Bloodlines Royal Ball where royals from a whole variety of top clan gathered together to socialise in a friendly atmosphere.
It turns out I’m not only bad at driving cars on the race track, but I’m also a terrible UFO pilot.
I’ve mentioned my fondness for the Greedy game, but here’s Davil and I playing some Zero/No Devil.
As soon as I’d saved for the forever Bloodlines amulet (no need to buy blood/lumens anymore) I went through my 2nd turning and became a hybrid.
In Bloodlines, even if a soul has already been given to someone else it can be moved with the Electrum Potion as a last resort. It’s best to try and swap/buy it first. Here was the day I took Dae’s soul into my care.
Another place Dae found for us to visit was the SL Botanical Gardens. So very relaxing and beautiful.
My first ever inworld store and the serious creation of Hisano’s Haven. By now I’d moved primarily to poses and simple animations.
Another Steampunk hunt via Historical Hunts provided me with a beautiful organ.
Hisano’s Haven official opening on my birthday!
And soon after setting up my first store I was onto a 2nd at Metal Health Club.
And as soon as I got settled the Metal Health sim expanded so I ended up with a new store yet again.
And finally I began my Night Circus project in a skybox over Simbrosia.
And unfortunately this is where my Second Life journey come to an end. Changing times led to a break from virtual worlds for a while.
See the next installment for the evolution into Littlefield!
